Everybody deserves a good spa day from time-to-time -– even if you’re a six-story elephant!! After a 15-month long “spa day”, Lucy the Elephant emerged from her makeover where she received the absolute best treatment $2.4 Million can buy, and we think you’ll agree that the results are impressive! You’d never know Lucy was turning 142— er, we mean 29 years old (for the 113th time)! To celebrate this monumental moment, the Save Lucy Committee invites you to join us for Lucy’s 142nd Birthday Party on Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 10AM – 8PM.
“Lucy’s Multi-Million Dollar Makeover” birthday party will be jam-packed with the return of crowd favorites like our Giant Water Slide, 9-Hole Mini Golf Course, and the “Lucy Express” trackless Train Ride which traces Lucy’s historic steps on July 20, 1970 from Cedar Grove Avenue to her current home on Decatur Avenue. NEW for this year’s birthday party, we are excited to introduce the High Striker, Inflatable Skeeball, and a Money Booth that will blow you away! Party goers will also be able enjoy a variety of carnival-style foods like hot dogs, Funnel Cake Fries, and Philly pretzels, along with other elephantastic refreshments. And don’t forget to stop in at 3PM to sing “Happy Birthday” to Lucy and even grab a piece of birthday cake (*while supplies last). Come join us for a fun-filled day of rides, activities, food, music, and much more!
PLEASE NOTE: There will be NO on-site parking at Lucy the Elephant on the day of the party. All people visiting Lucy the Elephant on this day will need to find parking on the street.

How do you participate in the activities for this event?
Outside activities and food will use a ticket-based system similar to a carnival. Tickets can be purchased outside under the main tent for $1 each or BUY MORE, SAVE MORE when you spend $10 for 11 tickets, or $20 for 25 tickets. .
Can I use tickets for everything at Lucy the Elephant?
Tickets can be used for most outside activities and food on the day of Lucy’s Birthday Party; however, there are some exceptions. Tickets cannot be used toward the purchase of any merchandise in Lucy’s Gift Shop, including Lucy’s Collectible Birthday T-Shirt or admission to the Guided Tour. Admission Tickets for the Guided Tour through Lucy the Elephant can be purchased in the Gift Shop.
Can I park at Lucy the Elephant for this event?
No, there will be no on-site parking for the day of this event. All visitors to Lucy the Elephant on the day of the birthday party, will need to find parking on the street. Margate City provides FREE street parking throughout the City, but please follow all posted restrictions to avoid any parking violations.
What time is the birthday cake?
We will be singing “Happy Birthday” to Lucy and cutting the birthday cake at 3:00pm. Enjoy a free piece of cake while supplies last.
